Joe Craig is already bracketed alongside Anthony Horowitz, Charlie Higson and Robert Muchamore as “one of the best spy kids authors… outstanding at both writing and plotting.” (The Times).
Joe studied Philosophy at Cambridge University then became a songwriter, winning numerous awards for his compositions before unexpectedly turning to writing books. He is now a full time author and when he’s not writing he’s visiting schools, playing the piano, drawing, inventing snacks, playing snooker, cricket and football, watching a movie or reading.
The first book in his award-winning Jimmy Coates series was published by HarperCollins in 2005. Since then the six books in the series have won over young fans across the world and converted thousands of previously reluctant readers with an electric mix of action, suspense and thrilling twists.
Packed houses at festivals, bookshops, libraries and schools all over the world have experienced The Joe Craig Show. His tall tales, improvised stories, and surprising theories about writing have enthralled and entertained audiences every bit as much as his Jimmy Coates books.
“Few books have the power to drag boys away from their Xbox or Wii, but I’ve seen the Jimmy Coates series in action – Super Mario is no match for this schoolboy assassin.” (The Independent)
Joe lives in London with his wife and pets: a dog called Harpo and a dwarf crocodile called Professor Sven. When he’s not writing, (or even when he is) he is eating sushi, playing the piano, watching a movie, reading, playing snooker, playing cricket, inventing a new snack, cooking, painting, doing martial arts training or sleeping.
